As the newest member of the OAH Spine team, Dr. Burke specializes in both pediatric and adult spinal disorders. Dr. Burke treats all disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, including deformity, degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, discherniations, and stenosis. Treatments include both nonoperative and surgical procedures. Surgical options are the standard approaches of decompression and spinal fusion, but also include newer advances in minimally-invasive techniques and cervical disc replacement.
Dr. Burke graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelors degree, majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology. Continuing on as a Hoya, she graduated medical school from Georgetown, excelling in all surgical specialties. As an Orthopaedic Surgery resident at George Washington University, Dr. Burke took special interest in spine surgery, published numerous papers and presented at national orthopedic conferences. She continued her training with an additional fellowship year at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, learning the intricacies of spinal disorders and treatments with Orthopaedic Spine surgeons and Neurosurgeons.
Dr. Burke and her husband grew up on Long Island, NY, enjoy outdoor activities and going to the movies. Dr. Burke enjoys doing jigsaw puzzles and yoga in her free time.
