Dr. Lauren Burke is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Spine Surgeon.
As the newest member of the OAH Spine team, Dr. Burke specializes in both pediatric and adult spinal disorders. Dr. Burke treats all disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, and specializes in degenerative scoliosis, deformity correction and spinal trauma using minimally-invasive techniques when appropriate for individualized, patient-centered treatment. She also treats common spinal disorders including degenerative disc disease, disc herniations, stenosis with standard conservative treatments, and operative interventions when necessary. Cervical disc replacement surgery can be offered to appropriate candidates.
Dr. Burke graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelors degree in Biology. Continuing on as a Hoya, she graduated medical school from Georgetown, excelling in all surgical specialties. As an Orthopedic Surgery resident at George Washington University, Dr. Burke took special interest in spine surgery, published numerous papers and presented at national orthopedic conferences. She continued her training with an additional fellowship year at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, learning the intricacies of spinal disorders and treatments with Orthopedic Spine surgeons and Neurosurgeons.
Dr. Burke and her husband grew up on Long Island, NY, enjoy outdoor activities, gardening and going to the movies. Dr. Burke’s hobbies include jigsaw puzzles and practicing yoga in her free time.
