Dr. Peter Barnett was born at Hartford Hospital and grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut. He attended Hall High School in West Hartford, Wesleyan University in Middletown, and George Washington University Medical School in Washington D.C.
Surgical Internship at Yale University, Orthopedic Residency at University of Connecticut, Orthopedic Traumatology Fellowship at Parkland Hospital at the University of Texas in Dallas, and Orthopedic Knee Fellowship at the University of San Diego.
Dr. Barnett's interest in treating orthopedic shoulder and knee conditions stems from his life long interest and participation in a wide variety of sports at the high school and collegiate levels. These interests continued beyond college to the present day resulting in a multitude of personal orthopedic ailments leading to his professional interest in understanding and treating these conditions.
Dr. Barnett has made and continues to make every effort to maintain his knowledge base in the study of orthopedic medicine to ensure he provides his patients with the most current, comprehensive and appropriate care.
Dr. Barnett was instrumental in the merging of the two orthopedic practices working at Hartford Hospital in the mid 1980's leading to the modern day Orthopedic Associates of Hartford. He currently provides appointments for his patients at Orthopedic Associates offices in Glastonbury and Rocky Hill.
Dr. Barnett resides in South Glastonbury with his wife, son and their two golden retrievers.
