The Board of Directors of Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, PC wishes to take this opportunity to update our patients on our
Practice and to report some new changes that have taken place.
First, most importantly, we wish to emphasize our commitment to providing the highest quality care, treatment and service to our patients and to our community. Assuring that this mission of excellence is fulfilled is our greatest priority.
Over the years, our Practice has grown and we now provide a full array of orthopedic services including:
· 19 Board-certified Fellowship trained surgeons with expertise in all Orthopedic sub-specialties.
· One Board-certified Fellowship trained Physiatrist.
· Fully-equipped X-ray services and MRI services for extremities.
· A complete range of Physical Therapy services.
· An in-house pharmacy program for Worker's Compensation patients.
· A free-standing outpatient Ambulatory Surgical Center (OASC).
· Office sites in Hartford, Farmington, Windsor, Rocky Hill and Glastonbury.
To assure that its commitment to our patients and to our community is fulfilled, Orthopedic Associates of Hartford has, over the years, recruited physicians that we believe are the most highly-qualified, highly-skilled surgeons within their areas of expertise.
In providing care for patients with arthritis, Orthopedic Associates of Hartford has been instrumental in the development of Total Joint Replacement Surgery in the State of Connecticut with Dr. Herbert Pasternak and Dr. Harry Gossling performing the first total hip replacement in the State of Connecticut at Hartford Hospital in the early 1970's. Total Joint Replacement Surgery has since remained one of the major subspecialties of our Practice. Working in conjunction with our physicians, a tradition of excellence has been established in the development of Total Joint Replacement Programs at Hartford Hospital and John Dempsey Hospital.
We are now pleased to announce that in addition to the relationships that we have established with both Hartford Hospital and John Dempsey Hospital we will be expanding our Orthopedic services to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. As such, we are pleased to inform our patients of our involvement in the development of the Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute (CJRI) at St. Francis Hospital. CJRI is the result of an effort between four Surgeons from Orthopedic Associates of Hartford and six Surgeons from St. Francis Hospital
and Medical Center to create an Institute dedicated exclusively to Total Joint Replacement Surgery patients. Our Surgeons, however, REMAIN partners of Orthopedic Associates of Harford and will continue to see patients in the same offices as they had been previously. The ONLY change will be that some of our Surgeons will be doing the majority of their Total Joint Replacement procedures at CJRI located at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Our patients can be assured that they will continue to receive the same high level of expertise, care and commitment from ALL of our physicians regardless of the Hospital to which they are admitted for their joint replacement procedures.
Our participation with the Connecticut
Joint Replacement Institute (CJRI) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center will serve to further extend the opportunities for Total Joint Replacement Surgery in the Hartford community. We are confident that our patients will greatly benefit from these efforts.
